About Nic Sim, Design & Consultation
I started this business with a Dell computer (which cost me a staggering RM7,000 back then) in a corner of my rented room in 1998. Having graduated a year before with a degree in Fine Art from Universiti Sains Malaysia, I worked for a year in the advertising industry. I decided that this was not the life I wanted and I quit, knowing I had a business idea but no skills at all.
I had no programming or HTML skills though I had a strong art and design base due to my years as a Fine Art student. Using what I had, I promised myself I would learn web design from scratch. I remembered learning HTML superquick.
About Krista Goon, Copywriting & Marketing
Most people don't know what they want to do, even when they hit their mid-30s. I'm rather fortunate that I knew exactly what I wanted to be since I was 9.
I wanted to write. Badly. I asked for a typewriter from my Godmother when I was 11 years old.
At Redbox Studio, that's basically what I do. Besides writing, I also manage the communication and PR areas of this web design business.
