Selling is Always Exciting

Since we started developing ecommerce stores for our clients in the past 4 years we got hooked on the idea of selling online. (We still get excited each time a client tells us of some far off customer who bought from them and they sheepishly didn’t know where that country was! What a good lesson in geography.)

For ourselves, though, we mulled over this for a long time because we want our e-store to be related to our main business. We didn’t want to open our online shop just because we could. We wanted it to be something we truly enjoyed. And finally one day, the ideas of books and knowledge popped into my head. After all, we’re big consumers of audio products and ebooks!

We worked on this on our weekends and days off for a while now. But this isn’t really so different from what we do normally. (And like Krista says, I am such a perfectionist that I need to get certain things right before I launch a site! OK, OK, maybe I am a bit fussy but I am a design nut.)

So today, taaaadaaaa…. let me introduce the “birth” of our Redbox Online Store, the e-store for downloadable ebooks and audios.

Yes, I know audios are aplenty out there but wait till you listen to the superb quality of these audios.

Over the years, I myself have listened to lots of audios and I know that if the audio is poorly recorded and the narrator’s voice is too strongly accented, no one will listen to it. I like a clear, crisp voice, pleasantly modulated and full of conviction. Yes, it’s an audio but voice inflections and diction are important too.

This is one key point I make because listening to a poor audio puts people off. And unless you are the type who enjoys active listening (which actually takes as much effort as reading), it will be tougher to understand if the quality sucks. So there’s audio and then there’s audio.

Right now there’s PT Barnum, James Allen, Wallace Wattles, and a couple more (every one of them is a favourite and yes, I’ve listened to them all). Each one comes highly recommended!
