Of Missed Trip, Published Writer & Readings

It’s amazing how fast time flies. Our intern finished her 10 weeks with us last week. To celebrate the occasion, we took her to a truly special place for lunch and on Friday, ordered a homemade durian cheesecake from Ai Tee, one of Krista’s friends, for tea.

Aside that, we were supposed to get ourselves to Langkawi this weekend but we had a bunch of stuff to do here in Penang. A number of website projects are rolling in so we have to prepare the necessary and friends are coming up from KL, lured by durians from Balik Pulau. Nothing like the king of fruits for major temptation!

Anyway, Langkawi definitely can wait though we go so often, we consider that island our private getaway and appreciate the slower pace of life there (besides, we get to sample good food with great friends whenever we land on that isle).

This week too, we got news that Robert’s book, published by MPH, will be out soon. Robert is a client and a friend whom we visit whenever we are in Kuching (he used to be from Penang but moved to Sarawak to teach at UNIMAS).

Robert is also a dedicated author whose unwavering discipline to his craft is noteworthy. He can shut himself off from the world to write. And because we love the same books (by Jack Canfield, Denis Waitley, Rhonda Byrne and more) and the same ideas, we have lots to tell each other whenever we meet.

Robert will be flying to KL specially to coincide with the launch of his new book, a compilation of 17 stories, “Lovers & Strangers Revisited” this 26 July at MPH Bangsar Village II (11 am to 12.30 noon).

Just in case you miss him at this event, he will be at Seksan Design (also in Bangsar) at 3.30pm that same afternoon for a reading hosted by Sharon Bakar.

Get more details from Eric Forbes’ blog about Robert’s KL visit.

If you are living in Penang, you can wait for Robert to come to Penang on 31 August - he’ll be signing books and having a reading at the Little Penang Street Market.
